Chuck E. Cheese animated show, Jumping to Movies and Cartoons. For over forty years, the  Chuck E. Cheese’s pizza parlors  have entertained rowdy and hungry kids all over America. The combination of pizza, ice cream, video games, and singing animatronics in a kid-centric restaurant chain was a genius mash-up. And it was the brainchild of  Atari co-founder  Nolan Bushnell. Although good ol’ Chuck isn’t quite  as ubiquitous a rodent  as Mickey Mouse, we’d wager most American kids are very familiar with him. Now, they may be about to become even more familiar, as Chuck E. Cheese is getting ready to star in both live-action movies and animated TV shows. Chuck E. Cheese In an interview with  Business Insider , Chuck E. Cheese CEO David McKillips said that his company has just launched its own entertainment division. The goal of this new segment of the company is to get their brand mascot—whose full legal name is Charles Entertainment Cheese, by t...

Senate resolution power transition, loses in the November election. The Senate passed a resolution on Thursday reaffirming its support for a peaceful transition of power, one day after  President Trump  refused to commit to such a transition next year if he loses in the November election.  The resolution, offered by Democratic Sen.  Joe Manchin  (W.Va.), passed by unanimous consent, meaning no senator objected to it. "We're in the most difficult times right now, and for the president to even address — to even address the subject of maybe not knowing if he would accept or not is beyond all our checks that that would ever happen in America," Manchin said. ADVERTISEMENT "I believe to have the leader of the free world talk as if we are an autocracy, authoritarian versus a democracy, is something that alarmed me and alarmed a lot of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, even those quiet as some may be, I know they're alarmed," he added. In th...

Titanic Northern Lights, ship’s navigational and radio equipment. The R.M.S.  Titanic  sank on a moonless night in April 1912—but the sky wasn’t completely dark. Instead, the Northern Lights shimmered green overhead. Formed when the charged particles of a particularly strong solar storm hit Earth’s magnetic field, exciting oxygen and nitrogen in the upper atmosphere, the Northern Lights, or  aurora borealis , illuminate the sky in a stunning display of swirling colors. As Mindy Weisberger reports for  Live Science , the solar storms responsible for this light show can disrupt magnetic signals and radio waves. Such interference, argues independent  Titanic  researcher  Mila Zinkova  in a newly published paper, may have contributed to the luxury liner’s untimely demise. Writing in the journal  Weather ,  Zinkova outlines evidence linking the  Titanic ’s sinking to the celestial lights. Among other factors, she points out th...

Child vaccination drop COVID, during the coronavirus pandemic.. New  data  released by the Trump administration  shows childhood vaccination rates and doctors’ visits for preventive care have “steeply declined” during the coronavirus pandemic.  Between March and May of this year, there was a 22 percent drop in vaccinations of children aged 2 and under who are enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, compared to the same time period last year.  There was a 44 percent drop in the number of screenings for autism, developmental delays and other conditions, and 69 percent fewer dental services, according to the analysis from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). “As a mother, I have witnessed first-hand how important early and regular access to screening and medical care is for children’s development,” CMS Administrator Seema Verma said in a statement.  “The absence of these...

EU team visit Venezuela, conditions for possible participation. Dozens of opposition parties are refusing to participate in the vote on the grounds that it is rigged in favor of the ruling Socialist Party, though one group within the opposition has said it is seeking better conditions for possible participation. “An EU mission is in Caracas this week to have contacts with all stakeholders (including all main political forces, civil society, academia, the private sector and the church),” an EU spokesperson said in an email. “This mission takes place in the context of the ongoing … efforts to promote minimum democratic conditions ahead of legislative elections.” The EU said it has received an invitation to observe the elections in Venezuela in December, but said President Nicolas Maduro’s government so far has not met “minimum conditions” to allow it to do so. Maduro responded that it would be “impossible” to delay the vote. {nL1N2GF00T] European nations have broadly disavowed ...

Rio de Janeiro carnival COVID, off for first time in a century. Rio de Janeiro:  Rio de Janeiro's famous annual Carnival spectacle will not go ahead in February because of Brazil’s continued vulnerability to the pandemic. Rio’s League of Samba Schools, LIESA, announced on Thursday night (Friday AEST) that the spread of the coronavirus has made it impossible to safely hold the traditional parades that are a cultural mainstay, tourism magnet and, for many, a source of livelihood. Rio’s City Hall has yet to announce a decision about the Carnival street parties that also take place across the city. But its tourism promotion agency said in a statement on September 17 that without a coronavirus vaccine, it is uncertain when large public events can resume. "Carnival is a party upon which many humble workers depend. The samba schools are community institutions and the parades are just one detail of all that," said Luiz Antonio Simas, a historian who specialises in Rio’s Carnival...

Chadwick Boseman mural Disneyland, diversity and inclusion on the big screen. D isneyland  has immortalized the late  Chadwick Boseman  with a touching mural tribute by artist Nikkolas Smith. The work of art, which can be found in Downtown Disney shopping district, depicts Boseman holding up the iconic Wakandan two-arm salute with a young boy wearing a  Black Panther   mask. The simple, yet powerful, image underscores just how important the character of T'Challa was for racial diversity and inclusion on the big screen. "This one is special. My King Chad tribute is now on a wall on display at Downtown Disney. It is a full circle moment for me: my final two projects as a Disney Imagineer last summer were working on the Children’s Hospital project and the Avengers Campus," Smith wrote on Instagram. "To millions of kids, T'Challa was a legend larger than life, and there was no one more worthy to fill those shoes than Chadwick Boseman. I'm s...
